Lucky variety and the external characteristics of the fruit, and resistance to fungal infections (as described). When grown in the open field, Gina tomatoes are well grown on the vine, this annually increases the circle of lovers of this variety.

Gina - tomato for open ground (OG), with an average maturity (116 days).

The variety is suitable for cultivation in Central and Central Russia. In Siberia, under favorable weather conditions, tomatoes ripen on a bush.

Gina - deterministic varietyself stopping growth after forming 8 brushes. In an exhaust gas, the height of a bush is about 60 cm. Growth of tomatoes planted in a greenhouse may exceed 1 m.

A bush planted in a greenhouse is less sturdy, stems are thinner, less fruit is tied than on bushes in an exhaust gas.

The bush is weak-branching (non-embossed), strong, no need to stepchild. The descriptions indicate that the grade does not require a garter. But in practice, a bush without a support can collapse due to the simultaneous pouring of a large number of fruits.

Fruits can be classified as dessert tomatoes, as they have a flesh of dense texture with a good, harmonious taste. The shape of the fruit is beautiful, rounded.

Color is saturated, red. The skin is dense, smooth. Fruits do not crack, gain weight up to 200 g. The largest weigh almost 300 g. The bush with spicy tomatoes is very decorative.

With proper care, the bush gives the crop in a short time. Efficiency grade for exhaust is good. Remove 10 kg of tomatoes, if you follow the planting scheme 4 plants per 1 sq. Km. m

Purpose of fruits universal. Tomatoes are good for canning, you can pickle sliced: do not fall apart, retain their shape and color. Sauces and ketchups from this variety of tomatoes are thick and tasty.

Purpose of fruits is universal, can be attributed to dessert varieties

Genie's Tomato - cultivar, TST Gina - hybrid. This is their main difference. Ripened seeds of tomato gina can be used; hybrid seeds are not suitable for breeding.

The pulp of tomato gin can be called healing due to the high content of vitamins and microelements. Benefit health, strengthen it in the summer can be, using tomatoes in fresh or processed (juice, mashed potatoes) form.

People with heart problems, hypertensive patients need potassium, it is part of the tomato. The daily use of tomatoes normalizes pressure, reduces puffiness.

Useful tomatoes for men after 40 - prevention of adenoma. Lycopene - an antioxidant contained in tomatoes, reduces the risk of cancer cells.

Beautiful, tanned skin is the dream of every young woman. The chance to get a tan beautiful golden hue increases with regular use of tomatoes.

Tomatoes are useful for hypertensive men, men over 40 years

Sergei: “The first time Gina planted two years ago. Since then, every year I plant them. Not a lot of soot, bushes 10. Gathered tomatoes are enough to eat and make adjika for the winter. ”

Irina: “Planted Gina in the OG and in the greenhouse. The result obtained in the OG, gave more. Bushes turned out strong, all covered with tomatoes, which sang very quickly. Not shepherd, but tied to a support. From the severity of the fruit bushes overwhelmed. I think that the variety behaves well in the south of Western Siberia. ”

In warm regions (southern Russia), this variety of tomatoes can be grown by seedless method. In the middle lane and in Siberia - only through seedlings.

Seedless method

The seedless method makes it easier to grow tomatoes. Sow seeds when the soil warms up, bypass the spring fluctuations of night temperatures.Ridge for sowing to dig in advance. She has to stand for several days.

Under the digging for each square meter of the ridge you can add:

  • ash - 1 tbsp.,
  • superphosphate - 2 tbsp. lt
  • humus - 1 bucket.

On each square meter of the ridge form 4 holes with a diameter of 35 cm. Spill the wells with warm water. When the earth settles, put the seeds of 3-4 pieces per well. Sprinkle with humus.

Before the emergence of the seedlings, water with a small amount of water. When the tomatoes grow and get stronger, remove the weaker sprouts or transplant them to another ridge.

Sow the seeds when the soil warms up, sprinkle with humus

Variety description

Acquaintance with the variety we will begin with the characteristics of Gina tomatoes. It refers to mid-season varieties - the fruits ripen on the 120th day after the sprouts appeared.

Fruits grow spherical in shape, slightly ribbed, bright, rich red in color, dense and very large - their average weight is from 150 to 280 g. Record holders reach 300 g. One brush of a bush produces from three to six tomatoes.

It is estimated that the “Gina” tomato is characterized by a yield of up to 10 kg per square meter. m In addition to their excellent yield characteristics, tomatoes of this variety are also gaining popularity due to their excellent taste. Since they are characterized by an excellent combination of sugars and acids - they have a sweet taste with a slight acidity, the fruits are universal in use. Their flesh is juicy and fleshy, contains 4.5-5% dry matter.

Tomatoes “Gina” are stunted - the bushes of the plant reach a height of 30-60 cm. They are sown in the middle. From a root grow, as a rule, three stalks. Therefore, tomatoes of this variety do not need to tie up and form a bush in them.

The plant is thermophilic, however, in the southern regions it normally tolerates planting in a seedless way.

It has a hybrid form, which is called “Gina TST”. It is distinguished from its predecessor by resistance to cracking, by earlier maturity and smaller fruits.

Pros and cons varieties

If we analyze all the advantages and disadvantages of the “Gin” variety, then its advantages include:

  • possibility of cultivation in the open and closed grounds,
  • good yield
  • large sizes of fruits
  • the duration of fruiting,
  • high content of tomatoes in vitamins,
  • excellent taste of fruits,
  • good transportability of tomatoes,
  • universality of tomatoes,
  • compactness and, as a result, the uselessness during cultivation to carry out such procedures as tying, shaping, staving, thinning,
  • average weather resistance,
  • unpretentious care,
  • resistance to such diseases as fusarium, late blight, root rot, verticillus,
  • long storage in all weather conditions.

  • frequent pest damage
  • poor resistance to temperature fluctuations, which will require a temporary shelter when planted in open ground,
  • cracking fruit when ripening.

Sowing seeds for seedlings

Sow seeds for seedlings should be at the end of March. The last valid date will be the beginning of April. Before sowing, the seeds are placed in a weak solution of potassium permanganate.

After the formation of the first leaves (one or two) sprouts should dive into different tanks with peat. Periodically, seedlings need to be put outside for hardening. You can start from 15 minutes a day, and then gradually increase this time period.

Planting seedlings on the site

Planted seedlings need in the period from May 25 to June 10. The seedling at the time of planting should be 45-50 days old. In order not to be mistaken with the timing and not to ruin the planting material, it is necessary to inquire about the temperature of the soil.

If the air temperature drops below 17 degrees, the plants must be wrapped.

Is it possible to grow Gina tomatoes in a seedless manner?

With a seedless planting method, seeds are sown directly into the ground. This should be done at the same time as planting seedlings: from late spring to early summer. The seeding procedure is as follows:

  1. The formation of grooves 30 cm.
  2. Soil fertilizer with phosphate-potassium or ash.
  3. Filling of grooves with earth.
  4. Abundant watering.
  5. The formation of shallow holes.
  6. Laying in them several seeds.
  7. Powder their land.

How to care for Gina tomatoes

After planting in a vegetable garden, “Gina” tomatoes, when grown, behave in the same way as with other tomatoes, however there are some differences: they do not tie up their stems, do not manipulate the formation of bushes and do not stepchildren. Caring for them is standard and consists in watering, loosening the soil and fertilizing. If necessary, you will need to carry out preventive and therapeutic procedures for diseases and harmful insects.

Watering, weeding and loosening the soil

It should be watered when the top layer of soil dries out slightly. During the flowering period, it is recommended to perform this procedure twice a week. In the phase of formation of the fruit, the number of irrigations should be increased and carried out every other day. And in especially hot periods, when the temperature exceeds 28-30 degrees, water daily. You also need to control the condition of the soil - it should always be loose and clean from weeds. Therefore, tomatoes are shown regular loosening the beds and weeding.

Top dressing bushes

Fertilization is recommended to produce according to the following scheme:

  • the first feeding - two weeks after landing in open ground,
  • second feed after 10 days break
  • the third feeding - two weeks after the previous one,
  • fourth dressing - 20 days after the third.
Feed should be fertilizers recommended for tomatoes, for example, "Gumi Kuznetsova", "Gumate-Universal", "Emerald", "Ideal", etc. Experienced gardeners also recommend the use of "green fertilizer" and organic matter.

Before each application of fertilizer, tomatoes should be sprinkled with separated or rain water. Feeding and watering procedures should be carried out in the early morning or in the evening, since water or mortar on the leaves is fraught with sunburn.

Resistance to pests and diseases

One of the biggest problems that can comprehend tomatoes is pest infestation. There are plenty of lovers to eat green tomato tops.

Aphid. Often the juice of the plant drinks aphid. As a result, leaves turn yellow and tomatoes become worse. To combat the sucking insects use folk remedies in the form of decoctions of insecticidal plants: onion peel, garlic, tobacco, wormwood. In case of mass destruction, it is necessary to resort to spraying with chemical insecticides: “Decis Pro”, “Confidor Maxi”, “Ratibor”, etc.

Colorado beetle. The larvae of this beetle are also not averse to feast on tomato leaves. For their destruction they use a mechanical method (hand-picking) and a chemical method - spraying with the preparations “Decis Extra”, “Senpai”, “Confidor”, “Corado”, etc. Medvedka. It damages the roots of the plant, causing the plant to fade and may die. Eliminate the pest using treatments "Medvetoksom", "Rembek Granula."

Chafer. The larvae of the cockchafer is also very dangerous for tomatoes, because they can provoke the death of the whole bush. They are fought with insecticides "Basudin", "Zemlin", "Antikhrusch".

Wireworm. The fight against this dangerous insect is carried out by the same means as with the larvae of the May beetle.

To the main diseases inherent in this vegetable crop, Gina is resistant.

How to use Gina tomatoes

When in the advantages of the variety we indicated its versatility, we meant that tomatoes can be eaten fresh, and also they are great for canning and cooking ketchup, adzhika, tomato juice and pasta.

Elena M .: “It was from this variety that I began to learn how to grow tomatoes. He is really good and fully consistent with the description. "

Lyudmila Y .: “The variety is very good. Delight and time, and size, and taste. And also its simplicity. "

Growing gin tomato

Tcultivation technology It has features, although it is similar to other varieties of tomato.

The preparation describes the following steps:

  • Preparatory stage: soak tomato seeds in potassium permanganate solution for 2 hours.
  • Plant material in two ways: seedless and rassadnym. In the open ground, the seeds are planted in prepared holes of 40 * 50. In greenhouses, greenhouses and home conditions - they plant seedlings.
  • Seeds start cooking in late February or early March. And the seedlings are transplanted into the open land, to the prepared beds, at the end of May. It is believed that if there are two true leaves, seedlings are ready for planting. Seedlings method for Gina tomatoes is preferred.
  • It is worth remembering that transplantation of this variety occurs after uniform heating of the soil in order to protect the plant from low temperatures.
  • To accelerate the growth of sprouts, it is recommended to use mineral fertilizers.
  • The pickup takes place when the seedlings have three true leaves.

When growing a Genie variety the following recommendations:

  • Follow the rotation. It is better to plant tomatoes after onions, carrots, legumes, lettuce. And do not grow after solanaceous crops, eggplants, pepper.
  • Plant basil, coriander, mustard near the beds. This is done to attract insect pollinators.
  • By resorting to artificial pollination, the fertility of the plant increases.
  • In the wells before planting seedlings, wood ash is added to fill with microelements and protect against some plant diseases.
  • Top dressing bring on a stage of formation of fruits and ovaries of a harvest. Keep in mind that nitrogen fertilizers should be kept to a minimum. An excess of nitrogen in the soil provokes the appearance of greenish spots on tomato fruits.

Gin and Gin TST varieties have an uncomplicated growing pattern, but do not neglect proper care and care.

Care and protection against pests

The description for the care and protection from pests of this class is standard and similar to the usual agrocomplex tomato cultivation techniques.

  • Watered twice a week. With fruiting and in hot weather, watering the beds every other day or every day.
  • Loosening after each watering and weeding will give improved nutrition to the tomatoes and provide a harvest.
  • In hot climates, the garter does not.
  • In Gina tomatoes, determinant, compact bushes and therefore do not pay special attention to stading. But we need high-quality plant fertilization according to the following scheme. The first time fertilized 2 weeks after planting greenery at a permanent place of promise. Next - in 10 days, then again in 2 weeks. And 20 days after the third feeding. Watering during this period is increasing. Tomatoes are fed with mineral fertilizers and herbal infusions. To increase the sugar content of fruit pulp and to protect the bush from pathogenic microflora, it is recommended to pour three times a month with a weak solution of potassium permanganate.
  • In the fight against insect pests using chemicals and traditional medicine.

Tomato Variety and Gina Hybrid bear fruit well with easy agrotechnical care, even at home.

Tomato Gina: description of the variety with photos and videos, reviews

Gina is one of the best large-fruited, high-yielding varieties of tomato. The variety is quite new, bred by Dutch breeders. Despite the fact that he appeared recently, he quickly gained popularity among many gardeners.

The best place to grow Gina is the Central Black Earth region. Tomatoes easily adapt to different conditions. They are heat-loving and in the southern region can be grown in a seedless way.

The advantages and disadvantages of the variety

Variety of Gina has many advantages, but in turn, there are several drawbacks.

  1. The variety has a harmonious, balanced combination of taste, sugar and acid. Gina, regardless of the method of cultivation always gives a stable, abundant and high-quality harvest.
  2. About 10 kilograms of tomatoes are removed from one square meter. Some gardeners, with proper care, remove up to 23 kilograms of fruit.

  8. Gina is a varietal tomato and allows you to collect planting material for the next year.

The plant reacts poorly to changes in temperature and requires cooling when it gets cold. The temperature at night should not fall below 16 degrees. If the temperature readings fall below these figures, the plants freeze slightly and start to hurt.

The bush grows heavily. When the ovary is more than 4 fruits, the stems can lie on the ground or even break. At the same time, laying the stalks on the ground saves the roots from heat and weeds.

Features of growing and care

Tomatoes of this variety are grown seedlings and seedless way. Off-site method is used in warm climatic conditions.
For planting selected bright place. The site should not be stagnant moisture. The earth should be loose and breathable.

When grown by seedlings, seeds are sown in late February - early March (with further planting under the film, into the greenhouse) or in April (when planted in open ground).

  • For sowing taken wooden boxes, containers, pots.
  • The soil should be loose, breathable and air permeable.
  • A layer of film is laid out on the bottom of the box, holes are cut to drain excess water.
  • A thin layer of river sand, fine gravel for drainage is poured on the bottom. There is soil on top.
  • To the top of the box must be at least 2 centimeters of free space.

Soil can be bought universal for vegetable crops or made from turf soil, sand, humus, peat and coconut substrate. All components are taken in equal parts. The mixture is thoroughly mixed and sieved on a large sieve.

The finished soil mixture is spilled with a solution of potassium permanganate and remains indoors for 2 days. The soil for sowing should be moist but not moist.

Before sowing, seeds are soaked for 2 hours in a warm, weak solution of potassium permanganate, then dried. To accelerate germination, seeds can be additionally soaked in a solution of any growth stimulant.

Seeds are sown at a distance of 1-3 centimeters from each other. A thin layer of earth is sprinkled on top. Watering is done from the spray.

To speed up germination, the seed container is covered with a film or glass. After sowing, the seed container is set in a warm place. A week later, the first shoots appear. Shelter is removed.

With dense planting, when the first 2-3 main leaves appear, the plants are pickled into separate containers with a diameter of at least 10 centimeters. If the planting is not thick, the seating is done when the plants grow to 5-6 leaves.

The soil should not dry out, but over-wetting can lead to the death of sprouts. Watering seedlings is carried out under the root or in the pan. Excess water from the pan must be drained.

To protect against black legs, seedlings are powdered with wood ash, ground or colloidal sulfur.

Top dressing for the entire period of plant growth in room conditions is performed no more than 2 times before transplanting into open ground. For feeding you need to take mineral and organic fertilizers.
The first feeding is done 10 days after seed germination, and the second time 2 weeks before planting in the ground.

In the open ground, seedlings can be planted in 45-50 days.

Land for planting tomatoes is better to prepare in the fall, but if this has not been done the preparation is done a couple of weeks before transplanting the plants into the ground. Mineral fertilizers with phosphorus and potassium, and wood ash are introduced into the ground. The soil is dug up and loosened.

Disembarkation is made in holes or in rows, in a checkerboard pattern. Between each bush there is a gap of 40-50 centimeters. On one meter 3-4 bushes are planted.

The seedlings are transported into a hole together with an earthy lump, if the earth crumbles, the roots are neatly distributed in the hole. The seedling is deepened to the cotyledon leaves and crimped with earth. After planting the bushes, the seedlings are watered with separated, warm water.

After planting, it is necessary to regularly weed, feed, loosen and water the soil.

Seedlings from the root form 2-3 stems.
Lower leaves for protection from pests and diseases are periodically cut off. Such pruning improves the ventilation of the roots.

With a non-seedling method, seeds are sown in open ground at the end of spring or early summer.

For sowing prepared grooves of 30 centimeters in length. Ash and potash phosphate fertilizers are poured on the bottom. Soddy soil is poured on top, everything is watered with settled water.

After, you need to prepare pits depth of 2-3 centimeters. Between the seeds when sowing, you need to respect the gap for free growth of plants. 3-4 pits are distributed in the pits, they are covered with earth. To protect against drying out and weeds, the soil is covered with mulch. With the threat of frost fossa covered with foil.

Further care is watering, removing weeds and treating plants from pests.

Watering is done twice a week (under the roots). During the formation of the ovary, fruiting need watering the bushes every other day. If the air temperature exceeds 29 degrees, then you need to water the plants daily. Water when watering should not fall on the leaves, as this leads to plant disease.

Top dressing is done during the ovary and fruiting of tomatoes. Fertilizers are applied once every two weeks.

The period of ripening of the fruit from the period of appearance of the first shoots takes 110 - 120 days.

Fruiting is not friendly, extended, long. The fruits are harvested before the first frost, when grown in a greenhouse, the harvest is produced year-round.

Seed collection is made from the largest, ripe fruit.

Gin variety is resistant to viral diseases of tomatoes, root rot, fusarium, phytophthora and verillilus wilt, but there are pests that can harm plants.

The tomato is susceptible to aphids. In case of yellowing and twisting of the leaves, the appearance of a sticky liquid, it is necessary to take protective measures. For protection, you can use chemicals (Konfidor maxi, Decis Pro, Ratibor), soap solution or decoctions of leaves of wormwood, onion peels and garlic.

When the bears appear in the soil, the roots of the plant are affected, which leads to disease and the death of tomatoes. The infected plant stops growing, starts to wither, leaves turn yellow and fall off over time. To combat the pest, drugs are used in granules (Rembek Granule, Medvetoks). The tool is buried in the soil.

Colorado potato beetle can be exterminated with the help of drugs: Senpai, Konfidor, Corado, Decis Extra.

With the appearance of the wireworm are used such tools as: Zemlin, Basudin, Antikhrusch.

This variety is unpretentious and high yielding. Many gardeners, having tried to grow it at least once, leave space for it year after year.

Tomato Gina: video

I sowed Gin's tomato right into the ground, as there was not enough time to grow on the windowsill, this method turned out to be the most convenient. The first harvest pleased with its size. The average fruit weight reached 250 grams. Tomatoes are very tasty, with a characteristic aroma.

In February last year, I drove to the store for seeds, and I was advised to produce a variety of gin. According to the characteristics of the tomato seemed very good, I decided to find out whether the description is the same or not. The bush grew lush. For the convenience of picking fruit, I tied it up. The harvest turned out to be very good, the harvest lasted until October, which was very gratifying. This year I will definitely plant this variety in my garden.

Genie TST Tomatoes: variety description, characterization, feedback »Vegetable-growing» Tomatoes »Description of tomatoes Gina TST

Comparison of Gin and Gin TST grades

On the market recently appeared a tomato with a very similar name - Gina TST. This is not a clone or a hybrid. This is a completely different variety belonging to the Russian breeding. In the description of the characteristics of the two varieties there are similarities, but there are also differences:

  • Gina TST matures a bit before Gina,
  • also suitable for all regions of Russia, and is recommended by the State Register for cultivation in the open field and under the film shelters,
  • Bush Gina TST determinant type
  • the fruit is round, loose and slightly ribbed,
  • weight - 200 g,
  • the number of seed nests can be up to 6,
  • the taste is excellent
  • thin skin does not allow to store and preserve a tomato,
  • yield in greenhouses - up to 6 kg per 1 m².

Features of the cultivation of Gina

Since Gina can be grown in open ground, under film shelter and in a greenhouse, the methods of planting can be different.

  • seed method is used exclusively in the southern regions,
  • rassadny - in cooler.

By the way, it is the seedling method that is popular in all regions, even the southern ones, because it allows obtaining an earlier harvest. And for the Gin variety, this is important, since the ripening period of the fruit is extended, and can last until the cold. Seedlings planted tomatoes give the bulk of the crop much earlier.

Seed method

Sow the seeds only in the heated soil. Before sowing, they are soaked. For planting choose the sunniest place, since Gina will not grow in the shade. Dig shallow holes, which add a little wood ash. Seeds should be deepened by 2 cm. To protect the soil from drying out, the bed is covered with agrofibre or film.In addition, the shelter creates favorable conditions for the rapid germination of seeds. Several seeds are sown at once in one well, in order to then leave the strongest seedling

Seedling method

Seeds are sown in the seedlings at the end of March. In the southern regions, sowing is done somewhat earlier so that the seedlings do not grow. Preliminary preparation, except soaking, the seed material does not require. After the appearance of 1 - 2 true leaves, the seedlings dive into separate containers. In the process of growth, seedlings are fed 2 - 3 times.

The seedlings are transplanted to a permanent place at the age of 50 days. The soil should warm up to 15 ° С. Usually, suitable conditions occur in May, in the southern regions at the end of April. If weather conditions are unstable, seedlings are planted under temporary shelter. If a tomato seedling has outgrown, it is buried lying, rooted south

Formation and garter

There is no need to form and guide the bush; breeders took care of this. The plant independently forms 3–4 shoots, due to which the load on the bush becomes uniform.

If Gina pulls out all lateral shoots below the first fruit cluster, you can get a harvest ahead of schedule.

Due to the short stature and strong structure, the bush can not tie up. Often, the shoots of the genus variety can simply fall to the surface of the soil, which helps to preserve moisture in the roots. But such an experiment can be carried out only in the southern region, where precipitation falls very rarely in summer. Many gardeners still recommend tying fruit hands. This will protect the fruit from possible damage due to increased moisture, and keep tomatoes clean. Despite the short stature, Jin is still better to tie up, so the bed will look neater and the fruits do not get dirty

Planting scheme and how to protect the bushes from thickening

The plant, though low, is rather sprawling. Therefore, from 1 to 4 bushes are planted for 1 m². The landing pattern may look like this:

  • distance between the bushes 50 cm,
  • Inter-row space is 65–70 cm.

To protect Gene from thickening and to ensure maximum light to the fruits, all leaves that shadow ripe tomatoes should be removed.

Watering and feeding

Gina prefers moderately moist soil, which is ensured by infrequent, but abundant irrigation. If the soil is excessively moist, the quality of the fruit suffers. They become watery, there is a prerequisite for the development of fungal diseases. With insufficient watering, when the earth dries out strongly, there is a danger of falling off of the ovaries.

The approximate schedule of watering - 1 time per week. But it must be corrected by the presence or absence of precipitation. The rate of watering - 7 - 8 liters under a bush. So that when wet, the water does not cause the green parts of the plant to burn, watering is done in the evening. If it is overcast outside, you can water it during the day.

When the Gina bushes are blooming or the fruits are started to grow on them, watering should become more abundant.

When a tomato begins to bloom and tie fruit, it is time for abundant watering

When seedlings are planted, nutrients are necessarily added to the hole:

  • 1 tsp potassium phosphate fertilizers, for example, superphosphate,
  • 1 tsp ash.

Nitrogen is not recommended for planting - this element can reduce the immune system of tomato. But ash is always used because it contains potassium, which increases immunity. As for the rest, fertilization for a genie's tomato is no different from a similar procedure for other varieties.

A large number of ovaries are fastened on Gina to prevent them from falling off, and the bush is treated with a solution of boric acid. For this hot water (but not boiling water) dissolve 1 g of boric acid. Spraying is carried out when the solution has cooled completely. For processing choose either evening or morning hours. Consumption rate - 1 l per 10 m². Boric acid is a very useful drug, as it is involved in many important processes occurring in tomato since planting.

How to protect Gina from diseases and pests

Prevention - the key to successful cultivation. It is well known that the disease is easier to prevent than to cure. Therefore, despite the good resistance of the Jin variety to diseases, it is recommended to carry out preventive development of the disease on time.

The first treatment of seedlings perform 2 weeks after landing in the ground. And then repeat the procedure every 14 to 15 days. Every gardener probably has a list of drugs, the reliability of which he has no doubt. Well, for beginners we will make a hint:

  • from fungal infections, the most common are copper sulfate and Bordeaux liquid,
  • systemic drugs, acting not only outside, but also from within the plant, include Quadris and Ridomil Gold,
  • You can use biological fungicides such as Gaupsin, Trichodermine or Fitosporin.

Regarding pests, genies are less resistant. Particular danger may be aphid, wireworm, Medvedka, larvae of the May and Colorado potato beetles. For the purpose of prevention, you can use various means:

  • folk - infusions of plants with a pronounced smell, such as garlic or wormwood. From aphids well helps broth onion peel,
  • Chemicals - Ratibor, Konfidor or Decis Pro will help to cope with the aphid invasion.
    • the wireworm and the larvae of the Maybeetle will not stand before the Anti-Khrusch or Basudin,
    • the larvae of the Colorado potato beetle will not survive the processing of Decis, Corado or Confidor,
    • Medvedka is very dangerous. The pest is almost invisible on the surface, so the granules of Medvetoks or Rembek preparations are buried under a bush.
It is difficult to find a Medvedka, because during the day she hides under the ground, but at night she can be heard - she makes chirping sounds resembling cricket

Features of growing in a greenhouse

Of course, Jean is better to plant in an open garden under the bright sun. But in cold regions such conditions are hardly possible. Therefore, the variety is grown in a greenhouse, where care for it varies somewhat.

  1. Watering control should be stricter. Indeed, in conditions of closed ground, the soil dries out much slower than in an open garden bed.
  2. Periodic airing is needed to help avoid rising humidity.
  3. Greenhouse Gina will have a greater growth, which means it must be tied up.

The rest of the care is the same as in the open field.

Reviews of Tomato Gina

I confirm everything — the fruits are quite large, not cracked and tasty.

I grew a Gin variety for a long time and I would not say that it is quite well suited for whole-canning. The fruit is quite large, it tastes good, I do not argue. But to drive him into the bank is quite a problematic task. I almost did not have little things on it, we only let it in salting, it is dense and fleshy. Variety under adverse weather conditions is faster than others affected by blight, so I refused it. But if there is a warm summer, then Gina is always a great harvest. Tomatoes are like stones - heavy. I like.

Vladimir Petrov

Gina was grown in a polycarbonate greenhouse. Northwest of the Tver region. Good harvest of large tasty fruits.

a guest

I had just Gina! Fruited well, not capricious and tasty in the exhaust gas

For early consumption and preservation - Gina, Testi F1. But the taste of Gina is not very good, but at the end of June - beginning of July - there are no tasty alternatives.

What makes Gina tomato a popular variety among gardeners is unpretentiousness, yield and taste.Even a novice gardener will be able to grow wonderful fruits. Caring for a plant is simple even in closed conditions. Another variety is good because it is universal in use. You can eat plenty of fresh tomatoes and preparations for the winter to do.

Origin of Tomato Gina TST

The originator of the variety is the search firm known to many gardeners. The author is called Ognev Valeriy Vladimirovich Ognev's breeder. He also heads the Rostovsky breeding and seed production center, which is part of the Search structure. An application for Gina TST's varietal testing was received in 2008, and in 2009 the variety was already entered into the State Register as a selective achievement, recommended for cultivation in all regions of the Russian Federation.

Gina is an author's tomato from the company “Search”

Growing seedlings

Gina seeds are sown from early to mid-March. Seedlings are planted in open ground, when the threat of frost has passed, in a greenhouse or greenhouse - 1-2 weeks earlier. The soil for sowing must be prepared in a week. First make up the soil mix from the ground from your plot and humus (1: 1). If you buy soil in the store, then choose proven brands, for example, “Living Earth” from “Terra Vita”.

Video: how to make the soil for seedlings

This year I did not prepare my land, I bought the cheapest in the store. As a result, my tomatoes stood for 1.5 months in one pore: they grew 5–7 cm from the ground and did not develop further. Feed did not help. In early May, the land thawed on the site. Gathered and transplanted seedlings into it. To my delight, literally in 2 weeks the dwarfs turned into luxurious bushes 20-30 cm high. But I was already afraid that I would be without tomatoes this year. I do not know why the seedlings did not grow in the purchase land. I can only assume that the soil consisted of high peat, which is characterized by acid reaction. And in an acidic environment, nutrients from supplements form compounds that are inaccessible to plants. Almost all vegetables grow well in neutral soil or slightly acidic. Diligent producers neutralize their soil containing peat with dolomite flour or similar additives.

For the prevention of late blight, sanitize the earth: warm to 100 C or pour boiling water. Let it dry and recover. To colonize beneficial bacteria, before sowing or during it, pour Fitosporin solution - 2 tbsp. l concentrate from paste on 10 l of water. Seeds hold a few minutes in a purple solution of potassium permanganate, wash and sow. You can first germinate, then shoots appear 2-3 days earlier.

The easiest way to disinfect seeds is to hold them in a solution of potassium permanganate

The depth of embedding into the soil is 0.5 cm. The optimum temperature for seed germination: + 25 ... +30 C, and throughout the cultivation of tomatoes:

  • in the daytime + 20 ... +22 ⁰C,
  • at night + 16 ... +18 ⁰C,
  • development stops in the heat above +30 ⁰C and in the cold below +12 ⁰C.

Care for seedlings Gina classic. Water as the land dries. After the appearance of the first real leaf, spread out from the common box into the cups. Every 2-3 days, turn to the glass on the other side. Every 10–14 days, feed with fertilizers containing nitrogen, for example, urea or ammonium nitrate (1 tbsp per 10 liters of water). You can use organic matter (horse manure extract, extracts of mullein and litter) or ready-made complex mixtures for seedlings (Agricola, Fertika Lux, etc.).

Preparing beds and planting seedlings

For tomatoes, choose a sunny place. The best predecessors: cabbage, cucumbers, zucchini, peas, beans, beans, onions. Mark the area according to the landing plan for Gina - 40x50 cm. Dig or loosen, adding a bucket of humus and 0.5 liters of wood ash to each square meter. It is impossible to make fresh manure, litter and bedding from under cattle and poultry for tomatoes. On such an organic bushes zhiru and do not bear fruit. It is better to buy complex mixtures for tomatoes (Gumi-Omi, Red Giant, BioHumus, etc.) and add them additionally to each well.

Use ready-made mixtures created specifically for tomatoes.

Holes make the size of the roots, and for the sprouted seedlings - deeper. You can bury and strong seedlings to the first real leaflet. After all, when transplanting injured roots, burying part of the stem, you give the bush the opportunity to form new ones. Deepening during planting is similar to hilling, because it leads to the same result: additional roots are formed in the lower part of the stem, nutrition of the bush improves. Fill the wells filled with heated in the sun and distilled water. When it is absorbed, you can start landing.

Make holes by the size of the roots, you can deepen the seedlings of tomatoes to the first true leaf

I do a little wrong. Soot stages in several plants at a time. I do with a shovel 4-5 holes. In each I put on the plant. I try on, expand or deepen the hole with my hands to match the size of the underground part of the seedling. Then I water, that is, I fill with water a hole with a root already placed in it. While I water the last one, the water has already been absorbed in the first one. I dig in. I bring the next batch of seedlings and repeat everything again. I like the scheme because I can drop the landing at any moment, if, for example, it rains, and continue later. And if you prepare all the holes at once, take all the roots out of the pots, then you become attached to this bed - until everything is planted, you will not go away.

Immediately to tie up the pegs is not necessary. Gina grows in a compact bush, but later, as fruit is poured, you still have to do it. For the prevention of late blight, as soon as the seedlings take root, spray it with a fungicide: Bordeaux mixture, HOM, Skorom or others.

Gina Tomato Care

It is much easier to care for this tomato than for many others. Garter enough one for the whole season. While tall ones need to be tied up 2-3 times as they grow. Gina fruits very well without pinching, but if you remove all the lower side shoots before the first inflorescence, the fruits will be larger. Compact bushes need less water when watering (up to 2 liters per bush) and liquid dressings (0.5 liters per bush). Water twice a week in dry weather, and in rainy, check how wet the ground is. It should be wet to a depth of 30 cm.

Genie's tomato can not stepdive, it grows a compact bush without thickening

As in the seedling period, continue to feed every 2 weeks. From the beginning of flowering, replace nitrogen fertilizers with complex ones that contain potassium, phosphorus and trace elements. In stores and departments for gardeners today they are sold in a large assortment, and special ones for tomatoes. Read the composition, nitrogen in them can be, but not in greater concentration than the other elements. Do not buy mixes on which the composition is not specified, there is no percentage ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.

For each fertilizer the composition or formula must be indicated.

Harvest and Destination

Gina fruits are well stored and transported. To prolong the period of consumption of fresh tomatoes, collect them in the blanche ripeness, arrange in the boxes up to the stem in a single layer and store in a cool place. Assignment varieties - lettuce, however, the last small tomatoes and can be canned. Any fruit of Gina will decorate with itself and improve the taste of many dishes: soups, side dishes, sauces, pizza, casseroles, omelets.

Appointment of Gin tomatoes - lettuce, they are tasty fresh

We eat salty and pickled tomatoes with reluctance, and we like fresh dishes. Therefore, I freeze tomatoes for the winter. I cut into slices, lay them in a single layer on a sheet and send in the freezer. When frozen, I pour into plastic bags and again - in the freezer, for storage.Salads such slices will not go, they become limp, and hot dishes with them are no different from those that are cooked with fresh tomatoes.

Reviews gardeners

My “Gina” has excellent yields, not whimsical (they didn’t pin it at all), large, powerful, razlapistye bushes at the end of August break under the weight of fruits. But no taste! Hard, plastic pulp, but I grew up “Gin” for 3 years in a row (this year I refused) for processing is quite suitable, but salads are not suitable at all, with today's choice of varieties you can find more tasty.

My genie was 60–70 cm tall. Maybe even taller. I did not measure. I don't understand the taste. He may like it or not, but no plastic.

Seeds from the "Search". Description of the manufacturer: “Mid-season variety, the period from germination to maturity is, on average, 120 days. Determinant, medium branchy, flat-round fruit, slightly ribbed, weighing 110–200g. High-yielding, large-fruited, resistant to cracking, excellent taste. ”I confirm everything — the fruits are quite large, they have not cracked and are tasty.

I am not a fan of trellis and garters, so I chose Jean as a short-growing plant, plus the versatility of the variety — and in salads is good, and for seaming. The peculiarity of the bush is that 3 stalks grow from the root at once, powerful leaves, I always remove the lower ones so that the fruit gets more nutrition. Masking does not require. The fruit is rather big - up to 300 grams, fleshy, but in moderation. Very tasty. We have nowhere to go for the winter without tomato, and the tomato turns out thick, sweetish. A few large tomatoes for a balloon twist, take a smaller fruit. And not least, the variety is productive, fertile.

Gina TST - one of the best undersized varieties. Tomato takes up little space on the site, requires a minimum of care, while yielding tasty and large fruits. Accents when growing should be done on the correct term of sowing and prevention of late blight. The variety is mid-season, harvesting occurs at the end of summer.

Fruit Description

The fruits of Hybrid TJT tomato tomatoes deserve a separate description. They received high praise from experts and ordinary consumers.

Characteristic fruits of the genus gena TST:

  1. Form rounded, slightly flattened. Low degree of ribbing.
  2. The color of ripe tomatoes is orange-red.
  3. The mass of tomatoes grown in open ground, 200-300 grams. The weight of greenhouse fruits can reach 400-450 grams.
  4. The skin of the tomato is thin, but dense, does not crack.
  5. The flesh is dense, juicy, has a pleasant taste.
  6. Excellent product characteristics, fruits tolerate transportation, are relatively long stored.

Tomatoes are suitable for use in raw form. You can pickle and salt them too, but not entirely. Large fruits do not fit into the jar, crumple and crack.

Many consumers find hybrid fruits less useful. The chemical composition of the fruits of tomato varieties Gin is no different from other varieties. They are also rich in vitamins, micro-and macronutrients.

Ways to grow tomatoes Gina TST

To grow tomatoes Gina and Gina TST in two ways:

  • seedlings (from seedlings),
  • seedless (from seed).

The method of planting seeds used in the southern regions, in the middle belt seedlings take root better. The seat should be well lit, with moderately wet drained soil.

Before planting seeds, it is necessary to prepare grooves about 30 cm long. The bottom of the grooves should be sprinkled with ashes and treated with potash and phosphate fertilizers. Then wells are made, 3-4 seeds are placed in each well. The pits are buried in soil.

Seedlings are grown from seeds in wooden boxes. It is left in a warm place. Small shoots appear after 10 days. They can be covered with transparent polyethylene to increase yields in the future.

Water and feed the seedlings need to be moderate. Young plants can be transplanted to the prepared open area at 45-50 days after planting.

Diseases and pests of tomatoes

The main problem faced by gardeners when growing Gina TST tomatoes is the “black leg” in seedlings. At the root of the young shoot blackens, thin. A sick seedling develops much more slowly than its fellows, it may die.

Save seedlings with the disease "black leg" can only be this way:

  • removal of diseased seedlings from the soil,
  • treatment of healthy (so far) plants with special means.

Also, seedlings can be neatly sprayed with a solution of potassium permanganate (potassium permanganate) or sprinkle the stems at the root with ashes. Adult tomato plants are relatively resistant to pests. The bushes most often suffer from late blight.

Description and characteristics of tomato variety Gina - especially the care and fruits

Variety of tomato gina - one of newdeterminant tomato species - distinguished by large fruit was bred by Dutch scientists and immediately earned the trust.

It attracts with its characteristics and consistently good yield. It is unpretentious in care in an open ground and greenhouses, steady against diseases.

Producers of Gin tomato seeds on the Russian market of Aelita, Poisk, Siberian Garden, Garden abundance, Agros, Gavrish, Lucky seeds, Ural summer resident, Euro-seeds. Sometimes on packs there is a difference in the description in terms of ripening (mid-season, early ripening) and the color of the tomato (red, pink). For the rest of the parameters, the properties are identical.

  • Genie's Tomato - determinant, with medium lining, a low-growing plant. The height of the bush is about 50–60 cm.
  • The leaves are large, green, dense. Shrub medium, consists of three stems, growing from the beginning of the root. Does not require garter, pinching, pinching and the formation of bushes.
  • The time from the beginning of the emergence of the beginner sprouts to the maturation of the fetus takes an average of 110-120 days. Although in the description of breeders, the variety is listed as medium worn under special favorable conditions (greenhouses, high temperatures, hot climates) Jin's tomatoes begin to turn red 85 days after the first sprouts appeared.
  • Description of tomato. Genie has a simple mind. The first brush starts laying on 8–9 leaves, then after 1–2 leaves. It is characterized by unfriendly fruiting. 3–6 fruits appear on one hand.
  • Description and characteristics of the fruit. Large, mid-season, bright red. Form rounded, slightly flattened top. The average weight of tomato is about 200 grams, although it is 400 grams. Inside the fruit 6–8 chambers, 5% of dry matter by weight. Tomato has a thick, thick skin. Taste is saturated, with juicy sweetish-sour pulp and pleasant aroma. When overripe cracking.
  • Characteristics of the soil for the cultivation of plants. As a stunted plant, it loves soil and is grown in the southern latitudes of the Black Earth region in a seedless way, it grows well in greenhouses in central Russia. Tomatoes are thermophilic, they often suffer when temperature drops, and when transplanted into open ground, seedlings provide additional temporary shelter. Since Gina tomatoes with a strong root system, can be cultivated in poor soils.
  • Gin variety is characterized by resistance to such diseases as fusarium, verticillis, root rot, late blight and TMV.
  • Tomatoes are stored for a long time and are well transported.

In this variety, there is a Russian hybrid form - Gina TST.

Such a tomato was bred by the breeders of the Russian company Poisk. Tomatoes are similar to gin tomatoes, but have features.

Characteristic of a grade of Jean TST:

  • Height reaches up to 65 cm, although the plant is also determinative type.
  • Gina TST is distinguished by high branching, but also with 2-3 shoots from the stem. They plant no more than 4–5 bushes per square meter, otherwise they can “slaughter” each other, which will affect fertility. Shrubs are recommended to tie up to the support, to prevent the collapse of plants.
  • Does not need to be staved.
  • Gene's TST has an average maturity that starts about 105 days after disembarkation. When growing, it is advised to remove the lower leaves from the shoots in order to improve the nutrition of the fruit. For a good crop to air the soil.
  • Fruits are round, slightly flattened with light ribbing. Ripe red tomatoes and a rather big weight of 230-350 gr.
  • The hybrid has an average yield of up to 10–12 kg from one meter.
  • The hybrid variety is resistant only to verticillosis and Fusarium.
  • Tomatoes are perfectly stored and transported, keeping a fresh look. Used for fresh cooking, for preservation not suitable because of the large size.

Characteristics and description of tomato "Gina"

In 2016, the state registry provided a list of the best varieties of tomatoes, among them was the Gina tomato.

Reviews of those who planted this vegetable, say that the characteristics and description of the variety indicated on the package are completely true, so when you buy, you can not worry about the quality and safety of the variety.

Feel free to stock up on seedlings of this wonderful tomato, because you definitely won't get a “cat in a bag”.

Features and description of the Gina tomato variety

To begin with, this vegetable is a very thermophilic plant, only the southern climate is suitable for it. Does not like sudden changes in temperature, at night, it is recommended that seedlings be covered with a film so that the tomatoes do not get sick and spoil.

By the way, it is possible to grow bushes with this vegetable in a seedless way.

It should only wait until the earth warms up well and sow the seeds immediately in open ground, you can use the greenhouse conditions, then the planting of seeds will occur much earlier.

Shrubs are not standard, with an average number of leaves, short, refer to the type of determinant plants, their height can reach 60 cm Grows well without pinching, garters and formation.

The bush has innate immunity to diseases, but it is difficult to resist pests, so it is recommended to inspect the leaves and fruits every two days. For protection, you can use chemical sprayers, be careful, choose only those compounds that are not absorbed into vegetables and can not harm your body.

A powerful root system can withstand even a very heavy bush. Gin tomatoes grow even on slightly enriched land.

The yield of a variety is high, from one square meter it is sometimes possible to collect up to 15 kg of ripe, juicy and fragrant fruits. Gin tomato has a rounded shape, slightly flattened near the stem, sometimes there is a slight pronounced ribbing.

The sweet, fleshy flesh is hidden under the dense, thick rind of red. They are suitable for transportation over long distances, because the vegetable well preserves its presentation for up to 4 weeks.

If you see a cut photo of a tomato, we will see 5-8 chambers with a large number of seeds. In addition, tomatoes are large-fruited varieties, and weigh about 300 g. Up to 5 fruits can be formed on one hand.

Because of the rather large volumes, tomatoes are not suitable for canning in general, but salads for the winter are an excellent option for hostesses who have a lot of harvest.

Gin tomatoes belong to mid-season varieties, their ripening takes 120 days.

Plant species

Tomato genie tst is a hybrid subspecies of tomatoes, which we talked about a little higher. He has no particular distinctive features, he also belongs to the determinant species, has a low-growing shrub. The description of the variety is identical: the red and slightly ribbed fruits are slightly smaller in volume than the main species.Tastes are almost identical: sweet flesh with a thin sourness.

Growing bushes produced in the open field and in greenhouses. The plant has increased resistance to late blight, but the pests that live in the upper layers of the soil, can maim the roots and destroy the bushes. According to reviews of gardeners, it was revealed that the bushes need a garter, otherwise they will fall on the ground or simply break down from gravity.

The only difference is that the tomato variety is bred in Russia.

As previously mentioned, the variety of tomato gin and its subspecies grow well in the southern regions of the country. If you live in a city where climatic conditions are constantly changing, but you really want to grow this vegetable in your garden, then it is better to use a heated greenhouse.

This does not mean that it should always be hot in it, because who wants to wind electricity in a greenhouse in summer, we just recommend to set the minimum heating temperature at night and on cold, cloudy days, which prevent the bushes from dying from the cold. Harvesting is easy, but to achieve it is difficult.

Take care of the plant, and then grow tomatoes will not be a burden.

After planting the seeds of gin tomatoes in the garden, he had long doubted that something could grow from this. A week passed, I opened the film, with which I covered the ground with seeds, and there the first leaves were already hatching. Three weeks later, the seedlings had to be transplanted to a new place, they became crowded.

I recently retired and took up the garden, and no one warned me that the seeds should be planted at a distance of 30 cm from each other.

A month later, the first flowers appeared on the bushes, then everything went like clockwork, and after 60 days, I saw a red tomato that hung on one bush. Soon other fruits ripen.

The yield was good, so I had to roll up tomato juice and salads with tomato slices. In winter I will test the result of conservation. And so I liked the tomatoes, straight, as I like, sour, but sweet. I will plant more.

My wife was watching a video about tomatoes, and she wanted to plant a genie. I ordered the seeds via the Internet, I received it, in the middle of March I sowed them for seedlings. She irrigated with fertilizers, tended them, and at the beginning of summer decided to transplant them into a greenhouse.

Bushes settled down well, but in the middle of July the weather deteriorated sharply, constant rains and low air temperature made it impossible to go to the country, in general, all the tomatoes died. Wife upset, said that the next time they transplant them in a heated greenhouse.

I really want her to try the praised tomatoes.

I bought a variety of Russian origin on the market, I liked the result. For the third year I have been collecting seeds from a new crop and leaving them for next year. In the care of the plant is not whimsical, water, fertilize, and scour from pests. This summer, some bushes, or rather x roots, ate some parasites, but until I figured out what was happening, half of the crop was destroyed.

Now I carefully monitor the insects, and, if possible, cultivate the land around the bushes with a special solution. Another aphid overcame, some kind of invasion ... a soap solution saved them. Ordinary laundry soap poured into the water, shaken the mixture, sprayed the bushes. And harmless to my body, and good for tomatoes.

I recommend everyone to try these tomatoes, they have an unusual taste and a pleasant aroma.

Tomato "Gina": description of the variety

Many beginning vegetable growers dream of finding an unpretentious, versatile variety of tomatoes, which would not only give a consistently high yield, but also perfectly feel in the open field.

All these characteristics correspond to the description of Gina tomato.

To be convinced of its truthfulness, it is enough only to examine the photos of the bushes and fruits of this variety and read the reviews of those gardeners who have already planted it in their plots.

Purpose and characteristics of the variety

The Dutch breeders' pride - a tomato bearing the beautiful female name Gina - was bred relatively recently, however, due to the low quality of care and the excellent quality of the fruit, it has already managed to acquire an army of admirers from among Russian gardeners.

Being a determinant, “Gina”, however, like most other low-growing tomatoes, is intended mainly for cultivation in the open field, so the best areas for growing tomatoes of this variety are warm climates, namely Moldova, Stavropol, Kuban, Rostov Region and the south of Ukraine. Although, it should be noted that in the conditions of central Russia, Gina tomatoes are excellently developed in film hotbeds and unheated greenhouses.

The productivity of a variety is high - the average yield from 1 m2 of open ground (with a planting scheme of 5-7 plants per sq. M) ranges from 6-8 kg, in particularly favorable years, with all the necessary agrotechnical measures, the Gina efficiency index can reach a record 10-11 kg.

Plants react extremely negatively to temperature fluctuations, so when they land early in open ground on cold nights they need a temporary film cover. With regard to disease resistance, there is sufficiently convincing evidence of practical experience, evidence of resistance of this variety to late blight, root rot and verticillus.

Attention! Although in the description compiled by the breeders, the Gina variety is medium-early (which means fruit ripening for 110-118 days from the date of sprouting) in greenhouses or under particularly favorable weather conditions, tomatoes of this type can begin to sing already 85 days after the first shoots .

Description bushes

  1. Bushes "Gina" strong, medium leafy and short, as a rule, their height does not exceed 60 centimeters. As it was said earlier, “Gina” is a pure determinant, and this means that the stalks of tomatoes of this variety stop growing after setting 4-6 fruit brushes.

  • “Gina” is not a standard grade, but a common one, and, nevertheless, its bushes practically do not need artificial crown formation and tying to supports.
  • Under normal conditions, the flowering of tomatoes begins after the development of the 7th or 8th true leaf, subsequent brushes are laid at intervals of 1-2 leaves.

  • Tomatoes "Gina" have a strong root system, and therefore suitable for cultivation on poor soils.
  • Attention! In view of the tendency of tomatoes of this variety to grow strongly, it is recommended to minimize their fertilizing with nitrogen fertilizers.

In addition, a surplus of nitrogen in the soil can provoke the appearance of greenish spots on the Gina fruits.

Description and characteristics of tomato gina

Genie's tomatoes were bred recently by Dutch breeders, but quickly gained the favor of farmers in many countries. The hybrid belongs to the determinant, the plant can reach a maximum height of 40-60 cm.

The variety is recognized by the following external features:

    • three or four strong stalks develop from the root,
    • the plant has an average foliage,
    • the leaves are medium, have a bright green color,
    • fruits are large, bright red color, can reach 250-400 g,
    • the shape of the tomato is round, with a light ribbed skin,
    • fruit tastes are excellent, they, as well as possible, combine sugars and acids of natural origin,
    • the pulp of the fruit is dense, has no more than 8 seed chambers.

    Similar varieties

Gina’s Tomato has a TJT genie subtype that will have such differences in its description from the main one:

    • ripen much faster, just 100 days after sowing seeds,
    • color of fruits is bright orange,
    • fruit size is relatively small, up to 150 g each,
    • ripe tomatoes hardly crack, even after over-ripening.

The variety of tomatoes Gina TST is not universal, in canned form does not preserve all the taste. Most often it is grown for fresh consumption. Tomatoes are planted both in open ground in the southern regions, and in greenhouses, under more severe weather conditions.

Another subspecies is Login, it belongs to the largest round-growing tomatoes. The loggins are quite early, the harvest can be tasted after 65 days, it is very juicy and has a very thin skin. But this did not affect its excellent performance after transportation, even over considerable distances.

Pros and cons of a hybrid

One of the best varieties of large-fruited tomatoes has its own drawbacks and advantages, the positive characteristics include:

    • unpretentiousness of a hybrid in care,
    • high immunity to most diseases and pests,
    • long period of fruiting,
    • high yields,
    • excellent taste of ripe fruit,
    • good transportability and maturation of tomatoes,
    • when overripe almost never crack,
    • does not require pinching and garter.

Among the negative indicators it is worth highlighting the sensitivity to temperature, the plant can grow and develop normally only when the thermometer shows above 18 ° C.

Features of growing tomatoes in the greenhouse

In the middle lane and northern regions, Gina tomato is recommended to be grown in greenhouses. This is necessary in order to enable the plant to grow normally and get the maximum possible number of fruits.

Planted in the greenhouse plants, when the seedlings will be at least 45 days, per square meter not more than three plants.

During the period of cultivation, each bush should receive at least three top dressings, conduct them according to the following schedule:

    • the first time is fed two weeks later, after planting,
    • the second feeding is done in ten days,
    • two weeks later, the tomatoes are fed a third time.

In addition, the genie tomato is watered at least once a week, moderately, it is recommended to water it more frequently during the ripening period.

Growing in a greenhouse reduces the ripening period of tomatoes, they will gladly share their beneficial properties as early as 80 days after sowing.

Do not forget about the periodic breaking of the lower leaves on the bush, to prevent the proliferation of parasites and increase air access to the ground.

Features of cultivation in the open ground

Growing Gina tomatoes in the open field is more suitable for the southern regions. To do this, you can carry out planting as a seedling method, and seedless. Growing tomatoes through seedlings is known to everyone, and the seedless way involves the following steps:

    1. Well-heated soil loosen and allow it to warm enough.
    2. Tomato seeds are soaked in a solution of potassium permanganate or growth stimulants.
    3. Shallow grooves with a length of up to 30 cm, which are spilled with ashes and potash-phosphorus fertilizers, are made on the chosen bed.
    4. Grooves sprinkle with soil and water abundantly.
    5. The next step will be the creation of holes, in depth they should not be more than 4 cm.
    6. 3-4 grains are put into each well, sprinkled with earth.
    7. After that, the bed with crops is covered, for this you can use agrofibre or film.

If all recommendations are observed, seedlings should appear from the beginning of the week, from which tomato bushes will quickly grow.

For this method of cultivation is to pick up a piece of land without stagnant water, with good illumination and good soil ventilation.

After a hybrid has been planted or grown in a seedless way, the main rules of care will be:

    • regular watering
    • fertilizer application
    • soil loosening
    • weed weeding.

The plant does not need to be staved, the garter is not required either, since Gina tomato is not high.

Top dressing needs to be brought in an open ground a couple of times, this will be quite enough for normal development and normal fruiting, in accordance with the stated characteristics.

The plant should not be “stuffed” with mineral fertilizers, it responds well to organic matter. A well-watered mullein feeding, which has been previously soaked in a small amount of water, has proven itself. Before feeding, the solution is mixed and diluted in water at a ratio of 1:10.

A good way for farmers is organic feeding chicken droppings. His concentration should be slightly weaker, dilute it with water in the ratio of 1:15.

Sort Gena belongs to the universal, it is used both for use in raw form, and for workpieces for future use. In a canned form, after heat treatment, the tomatoes of this type retain all the useful properties.

To keep the genie's tomatoes fresh longer, you can put the washed fruits in sterilized jars and tightly close the lid. This method will extend the storage of tomatoes for several months.

It is easy to grow Gina tomatoes, they are not picky in their care, for them only the temperature regime is important.
